Imola, record with 242 thousand attendees. Minister Abodi on the GP: "We are working on the renewal"

Imola (Bologna) 18 May 2025 – Record edition for the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Imola . The attendance for the entire weekend was in fact 242 thousand . Today, in particular, the Autodromo is packed to the rafters with over 100 thousand people present between the lawns and the stands (92,500 seats) and fans in possession of the simple circular ticket (without a seat).

The Minister of Sport, Andrea Abodi

Important numbers, which yesterday pushed the mayor Marco Panieri and the president of the Region, Michele de Pascale, to ask the Government for a formal commitment in view of the very complicated negotiations for the renewal of the contract expiring this year.

“Now we get to work – the words of the Minister of Sport, Andrea Abodi, who arrived in the morning at the Enzo e Dino Ferrari –. Today above all we rejoice for this fantastic show: thanks and congratulations go to those who organized everything: the racetrack, the Aci and the Municipality. Abodi's words are welcomed by the President of the Region, Michele de Pascale: "Obviously the role of the Government is central, we must not hide it, but with Minister Abodi and also with the other ministers, there is a very correct relationship . I think - concludes the governor - that if all together we are consistent with the commitments we are making, it is an objective that we can achieve".

The same line for the mayor Marco Panieri, who launches an appeal to the fans: “Raise your voice and make yourself heard to defend this Grand Prix , so extraordinarily loved and exciting for everyone”.
